Goldfinger

Patpong, Bangkok

Goldfinger operates near the Silom Road entrance of Patpong 1, making it one of the first go-go bars visitors encounter when approaching from the BTS station. The interior uses gold-toned lighting, metallic wall panels, and a polished bar top to create a look that's a step above Patpong's typically worn aesthetic. The venue seats around 40 customers around a central stage, with a separate lounge area at the back. Around 20 dancers rotate through shifts, making the lineup larger than most mid-range Patpong bars. The bar's location means it catches heavy foot traffic, and the touts outside can be persistent. Once inside, the atmosphere is more controlled. The mamasan runs a tight ship, with shows starting at 21:00 and drink service that's prompt without being aggressive. Goldfinger positions itself as Patpong's mid-range option, not as cheap as the side-street bars but not as expensive as King's Castle.

Full Review

Goldfinger's location near the Silom Road entrance of Patpong 1 is both its greatest asset and its biggest annoyance. The foot traffic feeds customers directly to the door, but it also means the touts outside are some of the most aggressive in the district. Walk through them quickly, don't stop to negotiate, and head straight inside.

Once you're past the entrance, the venue is well-run. The gold-toned interior feels modern by Patpong standards, though it wouldn't turn any heads on Sukhumvit. The central stage gives every seat a decent view, and the back lounge provides a retreat from the main room's energy. The lineup of around 20 dancers per shift is solid for a mid-range Patpong bar.

Drink prices are average for the district. Beer at 160 THB and lady drinks at 190 THB won't surprise anyone familiar with Patpong pricing. The bar fine at 800 THB sits in the standard range. Bills are itemized and have been correct on my visits.

The 21:00 show is worth catching if you're in the area. The choreography and costumes show more effort than the typical Patpong stage rotation. After the show, the bar settles into standard go-go mode. Goldfinger is a reliable choice that doesn't excel in any single area but doesn't disappoint in any either.
