Go-Go Bar

Lollipop

Fields Avenue, Angeles City

Lollipop is a compact go-go bar squeezed between larger venues on Walking Street in Angeles City. The bar occupies a narrow ground-floor space with a small stage, a single bar counter, and booth seating for maybe 30 customers at capacity. What it lacks in size it compensates for with affordable pricing and a friendly, high-energy staff. The dancer roster is small, typically 10 to 15 women, but the intimate space means you are always close to the action. Lollipop has been on Walking Street for years, surviving through several ownership changes. Its location next to Gecko's Bar creates a natural hop between the two venues, and many visitors check both in a single evening. The bar fine runs 2,500 to 3,000 PHP, one of the lower rates on Walking Street. Lady drinks at 250 PHP also undercut the bigger bars. The sound system is basic, and the stage shows are simple one-or-two-dancer rotations. No themed nights, no choreography, just straightforward entertainment at budget prices.

Insider Tip

The bar fills up fast on weekends because of its small size, so arrive before 9 PM for a seat with a view. Pair a visit with Gecko's next door for easy bar hopping. Lollipop is one of the few Walking Street bars where you can still find lady drinks below 300 PHP.

Full Review

Lollipop is proof that bigger does not always mean better on Walking Street. The bar is genuinely tiny, maybe 5 meters wide, with a stage barely large enough for two dancers and a narrow aisle between the bar counter and the booths. But the compact layout works in its favor.

You are never more than a few feet from the stage, which gives the place an intimacy that the cavernous interiors of Club Atlantis cannot replicate. The dancers rotate in pairs, and because the roster is small, you quickly see everyone who is working that night. There is no waiting around for a particular performer to appear.

The prices are the real draw. At 75 PHP for a beer and 250 PHP for a lady drink, Lollipop is one of the cheapest options on Walking Street. The bar fine of 2,500 to 3,000 PHP is significantly below what the top-tier venues charge. Service was friendly and unpushy during my visit. The mamasan was helpful and answered questions about pricing without evasion.

The crowd was a mix of budget travelers and expats who had clearly been here before. The atmosphere was convivial rather than intense. Lollipop does not try to compete with the big bars on spectacle. Instead, it offers a low-cost, personal experience that works well as either a starting point or a wind-down spot at the end of an evening on Walking Street.

The Neighborhood
