Montigo Sky Lounge

Nongsa, Batam

Montigo Sky Lounge occupies the top floor of the main Montigo Resorts tower in Nongsa, with an outdoor deck that faces north across the Singapore Strait. The lounge runs as an evening cocktail and wine spot rather than a late-night venue. A glass balustrade wraps the deck, and the seating mixes sofa groupings with high tables near the bar. On clear evenings the lights of Singapore's east coast are visible, and the approach to Changi Airport means low-flying aircraft become part of the scenery. The pour list leans toward premium spirits and a small wine selection; there is no dance floor, no DJ, and no karaoke component. Management caps admission to resort guests and verified reservations on weekend evenings, which keeps the crowd compact and the noise level contained. The clientele runs toward older visitors, honeymoon couples, and business travelers staying at Montigo for golf or ferry transit.

Full Review

Montigo Sky Lounge sits at the top of the resort's main tower and takes the view seriously. The deck wraps two sides of the building, and clear evenings offer a direct line of sight across the Strait toward Singapore's eastern shore. Aircraft on final approach to Changi pass overhead every few minutes, adding a slow visual rhythm to the experience. The seating is arranged to prioritize the view, with deck tables facing north and indoor seating set back against the bar.

The bar program is the most polished in this area. A trained mixologist runs the shift on weekends, and the cocktail menu includes several drinks built around Indonesian ingredients: tamarind, pandan, lemongrass, and local arak. Wines skew toward Australian and New Zealand labels with a small selection of Italian reds. The food menu stays deliberately light, focused on small plates and charcuterie rather than full meals. Prices sit at the top of Batam's range but below equivalent rooftop bars in Singapore.

The crowd stays quiet. Montigo's general policy of limiting Sky Lounge access to resort guests and reservation holders keeps walk-in volume low, and the venue never feels crowded even on Saturdays. Conversation dominates, phones come out for sunset photos, and the pace stays relaxed through the evening. There is no dance floor, no DJ, and no karaoke. Guests who want that style of venue have to leave Nongsa entirely and head to Nagoya.

Safety is not an issue in the gated resort zone, but the location is remote. Transport back to central Batam has to be arranged in advance after 22:00, and the resort can organize drivers for non-guests who book a reservation. Compared to TIIGO Beach Club at the base of the resort, Sky Lounge trades the pool-deck energy for a quieter, more polished experience that suits older visitors and couples better than groups.

The Neighborhood

Sky Lounge sits inside Montigo Resorts on the Nongsa coast, about 25 kilometers from Nagoya. The area is purely resort development, with no surrounding nightlife or walkable venues.
