Cherry Bar is the kind of place you end up at by accident and then keep coming back to. It sits on the quieter eastern stretch of Fields Avenue where the neon fades and the bars get simpler. There is no stage, no light show, and no sound system trying to shake the walls.
The setup is dead simple: a concrete counter, a few stools, plastic chairs on the sidewalk, and a pool table in the back. A handful of GROs were working when I visited, but there was no pressure to buy anyone a drink. I ordered a San Miguel for 65 PHP and played a few rounds of pool before anyone approached my table.
The GROs here are more conversational than performative. The woman who eventually sat with me was happy to talk about Angeles City life, recommend food spots, and share opinions about which go-go bars were worth visiting. A lady drink of 180 PHP bought that conversation, which felt like fair value.
The crowd was exclusively expats, maybe five or six guys who clearly came here regularly. They knew the staff by name and treated the bar like a living room. Cherry Bar will never make anyone's highlight reel, but it fills a real gap on Fields Avenue. Sometimes you just want a cheap beer and a quiet seat without the sensory assault of the Walking Street strip. This is that place.
