Pergamino Cafe Bar
Pergamino started as Medellin's premier specialty coffee roaster and shop on Carrera 37, and the evening cocktail program has become a destination in its own right. The space is clean and minimalist, with exposed brick walls, natural wood furnishings, and pendant lighting that shifts from bright daytime cafe to warm evening lounge. The bar menu features Colombian coffee in unexpected forms: espresso martinis made with single-origin beans, cold brew negronis, and a rotating list of seasonal cocktails that incorporate coffee, cacao, and tropical fruits. The baristas who work the espresso machine during the day overlap with the bartenders who work the cocktail shaker at night, and that continuity shows in the quality of the coffee-based drinks. Seating runs to about 60 people across indoor tables and a small outdoor terrace. The crowd during evening hours is a mix of El Poblado professionals, digital nomads wrapping up work, and couples looking for a quieter alternative to the clubs a few blocks south.

Minimalist, warm, and genuinely relaxed. It feels like an adult space in a neighborhood that can feel very early-20s after dark.
Lo-fi, jazz, and bossa nova at background volume. The music is there to set a tone, not to dominate.

Order the espresso martini; it's made with their own roasted beans and is one of the best in the city. The outdoor terrace fills fast on Friday evenings. Come before 19:00 to get a table without waiting.
Full Review
Pergamino proves that Medellin's coffee culture and its nightlife don't have to be separate worlds. The transition from daytime cafe to evening cocktail bar happens naturally around 6 or 7 PM, when the espresso machine starts sharing counter space with cocktail shakers and the lighting dims slightly.
The coffee cocktails are the reason to come. The espresso martini uses their own roasted single-origin beans, and the difference between this and a generic club espresso martini is immediately obvious. The cold brew negroni is another standout, with the coffee bitterness complementing the Campari in a way that works better than it sounds. Non-coffee cocktails are competent but not the point.
The space itself is a relief after spending time in the sensory overload of Parque Lleras. Clean lines, comfortable seating, and a noise level that allows actual conversation. The outdoor terrace on Carrera 37 catches the evening breeze and fills with couples and small groups who aren't in a rush to go anywhere.
Pergamino won't work if you're looking for a party. There's no dance floor, the music stays in the background, and the crowd isn't here to get wild. What it offers is quality, both in the drinks and in the atmosphere. It's an excellent first stop for an evening in Poblado, or a welcome last stop when the clubs have been too much.
